Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of delivery, courier, dispatch, and freight services offered by Lift & Drop Logistics ("Lift & Drop", "we", "us", "our") in Ghana, whether booked through our website, WhatsApp, phone, or in person. By booking a delivery with us, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- "Sender" is the person or business who books and hands over an item for delivery.
- "Receiver" is the person or business the item is being delivered to.
- "Order" is a single booked delivery, identified by a unique tracking number.
- "Rider" refers to the delivery personnel — whether an employee, contracted rider, or third-party driver/transport operator (for Outside Accra deliveries) — who physically handles the item.
- "COD" means Cash/Collection on Delivery — Lift & Drop collecting payment for the item itself (not just the delivery fee) from the Receiver on the Sender's behalf.
2. Booking an Order
When you book a delivery, you are responsible for providing accurate and complete information, including the pickup and delivery areas, landmarks, the Sender and Receiver's names and phone numbers, and an accurate description of what is being sent.
A booking is only confirmed once you receive a tracking number. Lift & Drop reserves the right to decline, delay, or cancel a booking — for example, if the item is prohibited, the provided details cannot be verified, or the requested service is not available to that area at that time.
3. Pricing
Prices are calculated based on the service selected and the distance between the pickup and delivery locations (or a flat rate for Outside Accra deliveries), as shown at the time of booking. Prices shown are for standard-size, standard-weight parcels.
Unusually heavy, oversized, or bulky items may be charged an additional fee. Where this applies, our rider or team will inform you at pickup before proceeding, and you may choose to accept the revised price or cancel that delivery without further charge (beyond any fee already incurred for an attempted pickup).
Lift & Drop may update its pricing at any time. The price shown to you at the time of booking is the price that applies to that order.
4. Payment
Payment is processed securely through Hubtel. Depending on what you choose at booking, either the Sender pays at the time of booking, or the Receiver pays when the item is delivered (a payment link is sent to them by SMS). Within a single booking of multiple items, different items may have different payers.
An order is only treated as paid once Hubtel confirms the transaction to us — never simply because a payment screen was shown or a button was clicked. If a payment fails or is not completed, we may hold, delay, or cancel the affected delivery until payment is resolved.
5. Cash / Collection on Delivery (COD)
Where a Sender requests COD, Lift & Drop will collect an agreed amount from the Receiver on the Sender's behalf, in addition to the delivery fee, at the point of delivery. Lift & Drop will remit collected COD amounts to the Sender within a reasonable timeframe as agreed between the parties.
The Sender is responsible for declaring the correct COD amount. Lift & Drop is not responsible for disputes between Sender and Receiver over the value or condition of goods paid for via COD — our role is limited to collecting and remitting the stated amount.
6. Outside Accra Deliveries (Bus/Lorry Station Dispatch)
Deliveries marked "Outside Accra" are not door-to-door. Instead, Lift & Drop hands the item to a bus, lorry, or transport driver at a station in Accra heading toward the destination town/region. We obtain the driver's name, phone number, and vehicle details and pass these to the Receiver, who is responsible for collecting the item themselves once it arrives at the destination station.
Once an item has been handed to a transport driver, Lift & Drop's responsibility is limited to having used reasonable care in selecting a transport option and providing accurate driver/vehicle information. We are not responsible for delays, loss, or damage occurring during the intercity transport leg itself, as this is carried out by an independent third-party transport operator, not Lift & Drop directly. Any claim for loss or damage occurring during this leg should be raised with the transport operator, and we will reasonably assist in facilitating that where possible.
7. Delivery Timeframes
Estimated delivery times (including "same-day") are estimates, not guarantees. Actual delivery times can be affected by traffic, weather, road conditions, incorrect or incomplete addresses, the Receiver being unavailable, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Lift & Drop will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed of significant delays via SMS or the tracking page, but a delay alone does not automatically entitle a Sender to a refund of the delivery fee, except where stated otherwise in these Terms.
8. Incorrect or Incomplete Information
If a Sender provides an incorrect or incomplete pickup/delivery address, landmark, or phone number, and this causes a failed delivery, delay, misdelivery, or additional distance/time, Lift & Drop may charge a reasonable additional fee to correct, redirect, or re-attempt the delivery, and is not liable for any resulting delay or misdelivery.
It is the Sender's responsibility to ensure the Receiver's phone number is correct and reachable, since payment links (for receiver-pay orders), driver handoff details (for Outside Accra orders), and delivery coordination are sent to that number.
9. Prohibited Items
We do not knowingly transport:
- Illegal goods or substances under Ghanaian law, including narcotics and counterfeit goods.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or other weapons.
- Hazardous, flammable, corrosive, or toxic materials.
- Live animals, unless separately agreed in writing.
- Human remains or bodily fluids/tissue.
- Large sums of cash or unset precious stones/metals, unless separately agreed and insured.
Lift & Drop may refuse, inspect, or immediately halt the delivery of any item suspected of falling into these categories, without liability, and may report suspected illegal items to the appropriate authorities.
10. Packaging & Inspection
The Sender is responsible for packaging items adequately for safe transport, appropriate to the item's nature and the service selected. Lift & Drop is not liable for damage caused by inadequate, improper, or insufficient packaging.
We reserve the right (but are not obligated) to reasonably inspect a package where there is a genuine concern about its contents, particularly regarding prohibited items.
11. Failed Delivery Attempts
If a delivery cannot be completed because the Receiver is unreachable, refuses the item, or the address cannot be located after reasonable effort, we will attempt to contact the Sender for instructions. Additional attempts, storage, or return of the item to the Sender may incur additional charges.
For receiver-pay orders, if the Receiver declines to pay at the point of delivery, the item will not be released, and the same failed-delivery process applies.
12. Cancellations & Refunds
An order may be cancelled free of charge before a rider has been dispatched for pickup. Once a rider has been dispatched or the item has been picked up, cancellation may incur a charge reflecting the work already done.
Where a Sender has paid and the delivery could not be completed due to a fault on Lift & Drop's part, a full or partial refund of the delivery fee will be issued at our discretion, processed back through Hubtel to the original payment method. COD amounts collected from a Receiver but not yet remitted will simply not be charged/collected if a delivery is cancelled before collection.
13. Loss, Damage & Liability
While we take reasonable care with every item, Lift & Drop's total liability for any single order — for loss, damage, or delay — is limited to the lower of: (a) the value of the item as declared by the Sender at booking, or (b) an amount equal to five (5) times the delivery fee paid for that order, unless a higher declared value has been separately agreed and any applicable additional charge paid.
We are not liable for loss or damage caused by: inadequate packaging (see Section 10), the inherent nature of fragile or perishable goods, incorrect information provided by the Sender, events outside our reasonable control (see Section 15), or the intercity transport leg of Outside Accra deliveries (see Section 6).
Any claim for loss, damage, or a significant delay must be reported to us within 48 hours of the expected delivery time, with the tracking number and reasonable supporting evidence (e.g. photos). Claims made after this window may not be honoured.
14. Customer Conduct
Abusive, threatening, or fraudulent behaviour toward our riders, staff, or systems — including providing false information to obtain a lower price, disputing a legitimately confirmed payment, or attempting to defraud a Sender, Receiver, or Lift & Drop — may result in an order being cancelled, service being refused for future bookings, and, where appropriate, being reported to the relevant authorities.
15. Force Majeure
Lift & Drop is not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, civil unrest, government action, strikes, road closures, fuel shortages, or significant network/system outages affecting our booking or payment providers.
16. Data & Privacy
We collect the names, phone numbers, and addresses necessary to complete a delivery, along with order and payment records. This information is used only to fulfil, track, and communicate about your order (including SMS notifications), and to improve our service. We do not sell customer data to third parties.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, pricing structure, or legal requirements. The version in effect at the time you book an order is the version that applies to that order. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
